As the year 2017 is in the rearview mirror and as we are in the middle of the new year, I want to share what I have learned from Jay's last Webinar of 2017 and the SEO tips for 2018 that he was glad to share with us. One thing I am starting to realize is how I have taken these webinars for granted. So with that being said, lets get to it.
(P.S. Sorry these have been a week late)
Make sure your site is mobile friendly
We are living in an age where people are browsing the internet through their phone. As a result, google and the other search engines are really starting to put a premium on websites that are mobile friendly. As a result, mobile friendly websites are starting to get higher rankings in the search result. If your site is not mobile friendly, expect to suffer a little in the rankings.
SSL is taken very seriously
google is starting to take the website security seriously, especially if you are an ecommerce website. Having the https: tag vs a regular tag will assure people that your website is safe and what they are browsing is safe.
Site speed is also important
most people are not going to wait for a website to load. They want what they are looking for in a fast efficient manner and they are not going to wait. After all, would you? They have other things that they need to do with their time. Like watch Netflix and NOT work on their business or go to the bar.
